Hempstead County was formed on December 15, 1818. It was one of the five original counties that made up the state of Arkansas. Today, twelve counties have their origins from Hempstead County.

This year 2018 we would like to take this time to promote different events around the county to celebrate these amazing years. The Hempstead Bicentennial Committee was formed to help promote such events. This website is meant to be a location to help promote events put on by the communities and townships that make up Hempstead County. We hope you will take part in all of the celebrations and events of this year as we celebrate 200 years for Hempstead County.
