Hempstead County Historical Society Meeting -- 1860 Presidential Election

The Hempstead County Historical Society will be holding a meeting on Tuesday evening July 24, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. The evening program will be presented by Historic Washington State Park Curator, Josh Williams. The program will be on the events of Hempstead County in the 1860 Presidential election that led to the election of Abraham Lincoln as President. Hempstead County, like the rest of the county had many eventful events during this election year 1860.  

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
